Kveiking Amber was named in reference to the Norwegian yeast strain, kveik, used for fermentation. This strain has a unique ability to ferment at much higher temperatures than most other ale yeasts. Typically at higher temperatures, in this case 86F, yeast will produce fusel alcohol and off putting phenols. Kveik does not. The result is a malty amber ale with hints of fruit and toffee. The finish comes across lightly sweet with subtle notes of caramel.
