A heavy dose of roasted barley contributes a distinct coffee like aroma with hints of cocoa. The roasted grain also develops a slightly acidic flavor rounded out by a smooth maltiness. Moderate hopping balances the malt sweetness and leads to a dry finish with lingering notes of bitter- sweet chocolate. As the beer warms in the glass more complex flavors emerge.
